Every step of the way has been so positive. From my initial call to Home Instead, to meeting with Mary and figuring out a care plan, to the aid that stays with him at our home. The lengths to which they go to provide appropriate carers, the efficiency with which the agency is managed and the attention to detail in every aspect are wondrous to behold. We have had about six months involvement with HI in Wimbledon and it has been close to faultless and way beyond my expectations. I must say that l have found this care provider extremely professional and caring. Wasnt an easy decision, I have enjoyed my position, loved the team I worked with..and have had some fabulous clients whom I care deeply about.
Home Instead immediately replaced them with someone that we love. The entire family feels confident that our mother is getting excellent care. The whole team was very communicative, which made it easier for me, my siblings, and my dad to be well informed in this busy world. The caregivers that were sent were friendly, and my dad was happy with each one. My dad told me he was teaching one of the gentlemen about stocks...which was my dad's passion...perhaps my dad's knowledge will be passed down to others for their benefit. Home Instead locations also tend to require a minimum visit length of around 2-3 hours , and some locations also charge a lower per-hour rate if the client needs supervision for a significant portion of the day.

Well they are not fully staffed for starters, all we got mostly was new employees, also a different one each day. They do not clean without a push start, they sat mostly and watched TV. All around bad experience for the time we used them. We started using Home Instead of Mishawaka because the VA chose it for us. My husband was a Vietnam veteran and was getting his health care through the VA AND he was also a Hospice patient.
Coverage will vary depending on your insurer. Medicare generally doesn't pay for at-home 24-hour care; nor does it pay for personal or homemaker services (i.e., shopping/laundry) if that's the only care that's needed. However, Medicare Part A and/or Medicare Part B may allow for certain home health medical services.

Among the contacted reps from Home Instead, we were impressed by their compassion and knowledge. They displayed a thorough understanding of home care needs and offered to promptly schedule an in-home consultation. Long-term care insurance and worker’s comp are often accepted with Home Instead. Always someone available to speak with regarding your client and communication with the helpers is prompt. The flexibility changing the helpers schedule and replacement is always reassuring. My mom has been using Home Instead for the past two months.

They would just sit here in front of the tv. It was so upsetting and a total waste of money. For the past few months, I have been using Home Instead-Oak Park’s services for my bed-bound grandmother. I have nothing but good things to say about this company!
She gave me some good advice, and has been very available while I have been seeking extra information about the aides' experience with my mother. I have met one of the aides and again was impressed with how good she was with my mother. Thanks to everyone for doing such a great job!
After a couple more responses like this I told her she needed to leave. Every Direct Care employee and Administration staff was kind and listened to our needs. My husband needed nightly assistance for 6 months while he recovered from a lengthy hospital stay.

We've always had very good luck with everyone we've had from Home Instead who we've had helping take care of my Dad. I can always depend on Home Instead to take great care of my mother and to keep me informed of any changes in her regular routine.
